Saint Brown helps people discover movies, save watchlists, create Watchparties, and coordinate Theater groups. This Privacy Policy explains what information Saint Brown collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Saint Brown, we may collect account information such as your Firebase user ID, guest username, chosen username, email address if you connect one, app preferences, notification preferences, and device notification tokens.

We store app activity needed to run the service, including watchlists, bookmarks, custom libraries, Watchparties, Theater memberships, votes, chat messages, RSVP status, invite notes, blocks, badges, and share/action records.

We may also receive limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, request logs, and error logs. This is used for security, debugging, abuse prevention, rate limiting, and service reliability.

How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• Create and manage accounts, app preferences, watchlists, libraries, Watchparties, Theaters, votes, chats, and badges.
• Show movie discovery, search, and recommendation features.
• Send requested push notifications and account/service messages.
• Operate public Watchparty pages and app links.
• Protect Saint Brown from spam, abuse, unauthorized access, and excessive requests.
• Debug, improve, and understand app usage.

We do not sell your personal information.

Public Watchparty Links

When a host creates a public Watchparty link, basic invite information may be viewable by anyone with the link. This can include the Watchparty title, movie, time, note, public image, and limited invite presentation. PIN-protected pages require the PIN before showing protected details.

Theaters, Chat, and Moderation

Theater membership, voting, chat, and moderation records are used to run group features. Theater admins may remove or block users from a Theater. Theater Watchparty chat is intended to be temporary and tied to the related Watchparty experience.

Third-Party Services

Saint Brown uses The Movie Database (TMDB) API to display movie, cast, crew, poster, and related entertainment data. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Saint Brown may use services such as Firebase, hosting providers, database providers, Redis/cache providers, notification services, email tools, analytics, and security systems. These providers may process limited information as needed to provide their services.

Notifications and Email

If you enable notifications, Saint Brown may send push notifications about daily swipes, Watchparties, Theater activity, votes, matches, invites, and reminders. You can control device notification permissions in your device settings and app notification preferences in Saint Brown.

If you connect an email address, Saint Brown may use it for sign-in, account-related messages, and features you request. Marketing or newsletter email features may be added later with appropriate controls.

Data Retention

We keep account and app data for as long as needed to provide Saint Brown features, protect the service, meet operational needs, or comply with legal obligations. You can request account data deletion from inside the app.

Security

We use reasonable technical measures, including rate limiting and encryption, to protect collected information. However, no website, API, or online service can guarantee complete security.

Children's Privacy

Saint Brown is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as Saint Brown changes. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
